Given to the unique qualities of this land characterized by gently rolling hills, where the vineyards alternate with thickets of trees and shrubs and are delineated by countru roads; our agricultural past and traditions; the climatic conditions of the area; and our commitment to farm vacationing, I set out to create the "Garden of forgotten fruits". |
| The garden is divided into three different categories:
The numerous traditional local varieties, several of them already present on the ground of the estate. These varieties include the Susina Scagnarda plum, the Per Gnocc pear, the Pera del Curato pear. Already in the 1700s and even before then, the Oltrepò Pavese area wasn't solely dedicated to grape-growing. |

In fact, this was an important area of fruit production since it provided vast quantities to nearby cities like Milan and Pavia. Traditional varieties, not local but found growing in the area, deserving of attention on account of their tasty fruit, their unique appearence or even giving thei historic value include the Renetta di cahmapagna apple, the Finocchietta Gialla, the Calvilla BIanca invernale apple, the Pero Moscatellino pear, the Pero Martin pear.
Rare fruit trees such as the Sorbi, the Azzeruoli, the Melo Silvestre apple, the Perastro pear, the Corniolo, the Amelanchier, etc and botanical oddities like the Susina-Ciliega plum-cherry, the Biricoccolo, the Mela Binel apple, the Ciliegio Progressiforo cherry, The Pesco-Mandorlo peah-almond, the Asimina Triloba, etc.are also represented on the estate. Last but not least, given our calling as winemakers, the "Collector's vineyards". Here the vines are grown according to traditions so that rows are short and close to the house. The vines themselves are held up by small fruit trees such as the Pesco Delle Vigne peach, pear, apple, cherry trees, plum bushes, etc..
